Coach Birnbaum played football for Benicia High School as a Running Back and Defensive Back as well as ran Track. He went on to play for Diablo Valley College before returning to Benicia High School as a Defensive Back Coach. As a sports enthusiast who developed a love for coaching, he continued to coach young athletes through youth football, baseball and soccer programs for over 10 years as well as coaching High School Track athletes at Harbor and Soquel High Schools in Santa Cruz County. Most recently, Coach Birnbaum has been coaching for Truckee Pop Warner Football as well as Track at Truckee High School. This will be his first year joining the Truckee High Football Coaching Staff and is very happy to be a Truckee Wolverine.
